Stoornis of my Life

Capturing the first studio recordings of Alex Klaasen’s musical about autism, humanity, and finding connection.

MORE commissioned Sir Render to document the first studio recordings of the musical Stoornis of my Life. What started as a behind-the-scenes assignment evolved into an intimate documentary when we discovered the depth of personal stories behind the production.

Over two recording days, we followed the complete process: from the first notes played by the orchestra to the personal reflections of the cast. Alex Klaasen serves as the narrative thread throughout the documentary, complemented by interviews with Jim Bakkum, Soy Kroon, Sylvia Poorta, Dennis Willekens, Julia Lammerts, Iris Bakker, and composer Peter van de Witte.

Besides the 7+ minute behind-the-scenes documentary, we also created individual social media content for each cast member. This practical approach delivered a versatile content package: one comprehensive documentary for the full story, plus tailored social assets ready to be distributed across all platforms by the cast and production team.

The result is an authentic look at how a musical comes to life, but more importantly: why this story needs to be told. With respect for the subject matter, passion for the craft, and genuine joy in the making.

Sir Render was responsible for directing, cinematography, and full post-production of both formats – delivering maximum value from a lean two-day production schedule.
